At the Burton Art Gallery, it is currently the Annual Schools Exhibition which showcases the talents of local young artists aged 5 – 18. As you can see from the picture below, the wonderful artwork from a variety of children across our school has been displayed!
The artwork from all schools is of a very high standard, and is very creative and inspiring; we were therefore extremely pleased that Tia in Year 6 has been given a special award and a prize for her portrait contribution!
Some of the children have already been to visit the exhibition and others are due to visit in the coming weeks. The exhibition is on until March 13th, and is definitely worth a visit!

St Mary's is a two form entry primary school with up to sixty children in each year group, giving a capacity of 420 pupils. Whilst we are a relatively large primary school, we pride ourselves in having a distinct community feel. Teachers , support staff and senior leaders build extemely positive relationships with children and their families in order to make them feel that, whilst being part of a large community, they are very much valued. Our ethos is represented through the BASE logo which you can see at the top of this page and the sense of belonging that children and families get from our staff is integral to ensuring parents and children feel safe at our school.
We plan an exciting and rich curriculum where children are given many opportunities to develop a wide range of skills and knowledge through different experiences. This ensures that the children enjoy their time at St Mary's.
If children feel that they Belong, that they are Safe and that they Enjoy their learning then we, at St Mary's, feel that they will Achieve their full potential, both academically and socially. It is our aim to provide a learning experience which is Building A Solid Base For The Future of all of our children.
