Summer Term.

Curriculum Overview - Year 3 for Summer Term 2018.

We loved using the Ukuleles and Boom whackers to create music to accompany the environment raps we have written as part of our topic learning. 

This week the children have thoroughly enjoyed having a visitor to demonstrate how to make amazing things from recycling and rubbish.

This week the children have been investigating the different roles of flowing plants by dissecting real life flowers.

Year three thoroughly enjoyed having a Science specialist to visit, and show them how our bodies turn food into energy and waste.

Year 3 really enjoyed dressing up for our Royal wedding celebrations! We loved learning about the Royal family!

Year 3 had a visit from the RNLI lifeguard to teach them how to stay safe at the beach. They really enjoyed the role play, and dressing up.

We are enjoying developing our skills and knowledge of tennis with an external coach.

In Dunlins we have thoroughly enjoyed sharing our home learning about Festivals which are celebrated in different cultures.

This week Dunlins have been using acting to retell the story of Gangster Granny.

Year 3 loved visiting Rosemoor! Especially walking miles around the grounds, learning about rocks and testing different soils.

Bullfinches have really enjoyed grouping a variety of rocks by focusing on properties such as: size, texture, permeability and density.

This week Dunlins have used soft pastels to recreate a picture of the Rocky Mountains in Canada.

This week in year 3 we have been creating Stone Age Clothing. To do this we used materials that would have been around in the Stone Age. We had so much fun using berries, grass and mud, and we got to make a great big mess.

Year 3 Home Learning 

After the half term our Science learning will be light and reflections. Please can you research this topic, and present your findings however you wish. You may choose to create a piece of art, a Powerpoint or fact file.
To support our multiplication learning please can you practise your 4 times tables.
